Mississippi State football starting running back Davon Booth is out for the first half of the Egg Bowl because of a “disciplinary matter,” according to a program spokesperson.
Booth’s suspension was first revealed on Nov. 25 when the initial SEC availability report listed him as out for the first half. The Bulldogs (5-6, 1-6 SEC) are hosting No. 6 Ole Miss (10-1, 6-1) at Davis Wade Stadium on Nov. 28 (11 a.m., ABC).
Also on the injury report for MSU is starting safety Isaac Smith, who is questionable after sitting out against Missouri. He traveled with the team for the Nov. 15 game and had his right foot in a boot. Rebels wide receiver Caleb Cunningham and cornerback Antonio Kite are both questionable.
Booth has started eight games this season and splits time with Fluff Bothwell. Booth is second on the team with 546 rushing yards, and first with seven rushing touchdowns.
