The Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Nebraska Cornhuskers have scheduled a home-and-home series for 2032 and 2033, the programs announced on Wednesday.

Both games will be played on campus, with the Cornhuskers hosting the Fighting Irish at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln, Nebraska, on Oct. 30, 2032. They will then meet in South Bend, Indiana, on Oct. 29, 2033.

The two historic programs have played 16 times before, with Nebraska leading the series 8-7-1. They have not played since 2001, when the Cornhuskers won 27-10. Nebraska also beat them 27-24 in 2000 and has won the last three meetings overall.

“The series with Notre Dame is the type of matchup that college football fans circle on their calendars years in advance,” Nebraska Director of Athletics Troy Dannen said. “Our fans have a tremendous appreciation for the history of college football and iconic venues.  We are excited to welcome Notre Dame and their fans to Lincoln in 2032, and I know our fans will travel to South Bend in full force in 2033.”

The Cornhuskers are 4-5-1 at home against Notre Dame, with the Fighting Irish going 3-1 when they are the home team. Before the games in 2000 and 2001, they had not played since the 1973 Orange Bowl. The two programs played every year from 1915 to 1925, splitting the game 5-5-1. They also met in 1947 and 1948.
