Elite 2029 LB prospect to visit MSU football next month

A high-level linebacker in the 2029 class is set to take an unofficial visit to Michigan State next month.

Austin Phillips of Kendallville, Ind. announced earlier this week that he plans to visit Michigan State for a game next month. According to his social media post, he will be at Michigan State for the Spartans' home game against Northwestern on October 17.

Phillips has already visited Indiana and Notre Dame this fall, and has other visits lined up with Ohio State, Penn State, Tennessee, Wisconsin, Purdue and Notre Dame again.

Phillips is listed as a four-star prospect, with a recruiting rating of 90 in 247Sports' system. He ranks as the No. 5 linebacker and No. 63 overall prospect in the 2029 class.

Michigan State extended an offer to Phillips in June, and is one of nearly 20 schools to already offer him, according to 247Sports. He also holds notable offers from Indiana, Louisville, Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Purdue, Tennessee, USC, Wisconsin and Notre Dame.
