Hawkeyes look to get to 3-0 when they host another in-state program.

For the second straight week, the Iowa football team welcomes an in-state opponent to Kinnick Stadium.

This time, the Hawkeyes are heavy favorites over upset-minded Northern Iowa, as the Panthers make the jump up from the FCS level of Division I.

Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. ET with the game airing live on FS1.

Last week, Iowa used a late field goal to best Iowa State, 16-13, improving to 2-0 on the year. The Hawkeyes dominated Northern Illinois to start the season, 40-0, and have won five in a row dating back to the 2025-26 year.

Iowa Enters Matchup Banged Up On Offense

The offense for the Hawkeyes could feature several different faces this week. Starting tight end DJ Vonnahme has been ruled out. Starting running back Kamari Moulton is questionable, as is backup running back LJ Phillips, Jr.

Hank Brown is likely to remain at quarterback after sharing snaps in the opener. Brown has completed 33 of 50 for 320 yards and a touchdown. Tony Diaz is his top target, catching 15 passes for 179 yards and a score.

Moulton has 240 yards rushing with a pair of touchdowns on the season.

The Iowa defense has been as strong as ever, allowing just 13 points through two games. Cam Buffington leads with 21 tackles, as Joseph Anderson has 1.5 quarterback sacks.

Northern Iowa Looking to Play Spoiler Again

The Panthers have earned several monumental wins over the years. They nearly stunned Iowa in 2009, losing after two blocked field goals, 17-16.

But Northern Iowa has looked improved this year. Quarterback Jaxon Dailey has 529 yards passing and three TDs on the season. Brady McCullough is his favorite target, as the tight end has eight receptions for 123 yards and three scores.

The Panthers fell at Eastern Washington to begin the season. They bounced back with a 56-14 triumph over Drake last week.
