Sportsbook locks for college football week 3 including Ole Miss/LSU

If you haven’t already informed your significant other about this college football weekend, you might want to pull that lever as soon as possible.
This is one of those weekends where the plan should be to wake up, have a coffee or Bloody Mary or both, get your spot on the couch and bask in the televised goodness of college football for 12-14 hours. To quote the great Ron Swanson, “dammit, I love this country so much.”
Leg muscle atrophy aside this is the first weekend where you’ll have multiple top 25 matchups and potential playoff implications in the games. There’s still some cupcake blowouts in the schedule, but the season is really getting going now.
Last weekend, we went 3-1 for a bounce back from an atrocious week two, and we’re sitting at 5-6 for the season. Gross but time for another week of picks to get us back making money again.
COLLEGE FOOTBALL WEEK 3 LOCKS
- No. 5 Miami at Wake Forest (+21) – Give me the Demon Deacons at home against Miami. Wake Forest has scored 38 points in both of its first two games and have an undefeated start to the year. Twenty one points in your own stadium is a lot even given the Hurricanes talent on both sides of the ball. I think Wake keeps it a little closer but still loses.
- Kentucky at No. 9 Texas A&M (-16.5) – Kentucky looked good for one half of ball against Alabama on their home field before getting blasted in the second half. Kyle Field will be loud, and the Aggies will win by a few touchdowns if not more.
- Florida St. at No. 10 Alabama (-19.5) – FSU is a dumpster fire right now. A fired athletic director, photos of moving vans at head coach Mike Norvell’s house, and now a road trip to Tuscaloosa to face the undefeated Crimson Tide. Alabama rolls in this one and maybe calms down this myopic fanbase ready to pull the plug on Kalen DeBoer.
- Stonehill at UMass (-33.5) – The Minute Men made us money last weekend with a 27-point cover over Sacred Heart, and they’ll do it again against the Stonehill Skyhawks who just moved from division II to division I FCS in 2022.
- No. 7 LSU at No. 8 Ole Miss (O/U 57.5) – I think the enormous pressure of this game is going to make both head coaches either cautious or cause them to do things out of character. Fans have seen it before with Lane Kiffin in big games he makes some really odd decisions in close games. Add on this is the brightest lights and most eyes on a game for either team, and I think the under hits in this game.
WEEK 3 POISON
- LSU-Ole Miss spread – Look, I know you want to bet on the Rebels to upset the Tigers, or maybe you want to bet LSU to cover, so at least you make some money while watching your team lose. This game is going to be a hundred kinds of crazy playing out.
- No. 22 Houston at No. 13 Texas Tech (-7.5) – The extra half point would keep me away from this one as Houston will have the Red Raiders on a possible upset alert. TTU is good enough to win this game by double digits, but I haven’t been convinced they are as good as last season’s squad just yet.
