Western Kentucky:
For the first time since 2020, the Kentucky Hilltoppers have opened up their season 0-2. Western Kentucky fell 70-20 to No. 2 Georgia last Saturday, giving up 49 points in the first half.
The team has struggled to score, averaging just 17.0 points per game through their first two games. They currently have the worst scoring defense in the FBS this season, allowing their opponents to convert 100% of their redzone drives so far.
Indiana:
The defending national champions defeated Howard 55-0 last Saturday, improving to 18 straight wins — the longest current win streak in the FBS.
It was Indiana's second straight game with at least 50 points, after defeating North Texas 52-16 in Week 1.
Graduate senior QB Josh Hoover threw four touchdowns in the win. Hoover, a transfer from TCU, has completed 19-for-27 passes for 376 yards, eight passing touchdowns and zero interceptions through two games this season.
Indiana has been just as strong defensively. The Hoosiers, who returned six of their 11 starters from last season’s CFP National Championship game, held Howard to just 57 yards of total offense last Saturday.
Indiana seeks to become the first school to win back-to-back national titles since Georgia in 2021-22.
