Four-Star 2029 TE Returning to Northwestern for Second Visit

Northwestern is getting another look at one of the top young tight ends in the country.

Four-star 2029 tight end Hank Doyle will return to Northwestern for a second visit when the Wildcats host Rutgers on Oct. 24 at Ryan Field, giving the program another chance to build its relationship with one of the most highly regarded offensive prospects in his class.

Doyle, a Wisconsin native from Grafton High School, is listed at 6-foot-6 and 215 pounds and has quickly emerged as a national recruiting name. He currently lists Northwestern among his offers, along with other Big Ten programs . His size, catch radius, speed and athleticism are reasons for his rising stock. 

The return visit is especially notable because Doyle has already seen what Northwestern has to offer. After his first game-day visit, Doyle said he was impressed by the changes to the Wildcats’ offense and the program’s facilities while expressing excitement about returning for a game at the new Ryan Field. 

Now, he will get that opportunity against Rutgers.

A second visit does not mean Northwestern is close to securing Doyle’s commitment. He is still a 2029 prospect with multiple years of high school football ahead of him and plenty of time for his recruitment to develop.

But getting a player of his caliber back on campus is another positive step for the Wildcats as they continue building a relationship with one of the top offensive talents in the country.

Doyle’s connection to Northwestern also has a family element. His sister has signed to play lacrosse for the Wildcats, giving Doyle another connection to the university and another reason for his family to become familiar with the program and campus.

On the field, the upside is easy to see.

Doyle has the frame of a future college tight end already, but his athleticism makes him more than just a big target. His combination of size, speed and catch radius gives him the potential to become a difficult matchup in the passing game while also providing versatility as he continues developing his game.

For Northwestern, adding a player like Doyle would be a significant addition to its future offensive plans.

There is still a long road ahead in his recruitment, but the Wildcats are giving themselves another opportunity to make an impression on one of the top young tight ends in the 2029 class.

And with Doyle choosing to come back to Evanston for a second visit, Northwestern will have another chance to show him why Ryan Field and the Wildcats could be a fit for his future.
