Here is the place for discussion on all college football through the weekend that is not UW vs. Eastern Washington. But first, a rundown of some of the bigger games.
Friday Night: Three ranked teams play on Friday night and two of the games look pretty compelling. Miami faces their first ACC road test against Wake Forest. In the Big 12, #13 Texas Tech hosts #22 Houston in one of the more interesting games of the whole weekend. Oregon also plays, hosting Portland St.
Saturday Early: It’s not the strongest slate for the early games. #2 Georgia traveling to Arkansas is probably the best matchup, but the Bulldogs are favored by 24.5, so it might not give much drama. Ohio St and Penn St host MAC teams. Maybe we’ll get another Western Michigan-style miracle, but this time it will hold up.
Saturday Midday: Lots more mismatches here, but #23 Louisville taking on #16 SMU looks like it should be very competitive. #10 Alabama welcomes another struggling Florida St team. Kentucky continues a really tough early stretch by traveling to #9 Texas A&M a week after losing to Alabama. #12 USC goes cross-country to play Rutgers, but the jetlag might be their toughest opposition.
Saturday Evening: Notre Dame continues their tour through the bottom rungs of power conferences by taking on Michigan St. #25 Virginia welcomes West Virginia. The primetime game of the week is Lane Kiffin’s first trip back to Ole Miss, with #7 LSU taking on the #8 Rebels.
