Lane Kiffin calls on frat bros to prepare LSU football team for brutal Ole Miss crowd

Lane Kiffin and the LSU Tigers never fail to bring the wildest stories to college football. This weekend, Kiffin is the biggest story in the country, as he returns to the program he coached for six seasons.

Headlining the Week 3 college football slate, No. 7 LSU travels to Oxford, Mississippi, to visit the No. 8 Ole Miss Rebels in a top-10 matchup.

While what happens on the field is most important, there might not be a more anticipated entrance into the building and onto the field than Kiffin’s entrance into the Rebels’ home stadium.

This isn’t new for Kiffin either; he faced similar circumstances at Ole Miss. Kiffin’s Tennessee tenure ended in an ugly fashion. When he returned to Knoxville, fans greeted him by throwing all sorts of items onto the field. 

Golf balls, beer cans, and even a mustard bottle were thrown onto the field to close Kiffin’s return to Knoxville in a 31-26 win.

Since Kiffin has experience with hostile environments, he’s prepping his team for the wildest environment possible. Let’s just say Kiffin got creative in how he’s prepping his team throughout this week. 

Lane Kiffin hires LSU frats to heckle the team at practice

What better way to prepare for a rowdy crowd of college kids than bringing in rowdy college kids? At an LSU practice this week, LSU students showed up at the practice field and greeted the players and Kiffin as they walked back into the facility.

The LSU frat students met the players with loud boos and signs that trolled the team and certain players. The best sign targeted LSU’s premier EDGE, Princewill Umanmielen.

ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported Wednesday that Ole Miss served Umanmielen with lawsuit papers. The lawsuit stems from a dispute over a revenue-sharing contract with Ole Miss. 

The sign trolling Umanmielen read “See you in court” with a picture of Umanmielen and a judge. 

Ultimately, the tactic is creative and probably better than simple crowd-noise practice with boos raining down on loudspeakers. That said, no tactic can prepare LSU and Kiffin for what’s coming on Saturday night. 

This Ole Miss crowd won’t let up against Kiffin, and extra security will be needed. Sports need villain stories, and there’s no bigger villain right now than Lane Kiffin.
