Betting Line: Kansas State -20.5
VITALS: The Kansas State Wildcats have both games this season in impressive fashion. They opened with a 71-3 victory against the Nicholls Cowboys before a dominant 34-7 victory over the Washington State Cougars. They are led by quarterback Avery Johnson and running back Rodney Fields on offense. Fields has run for at least 100 yards in both games and had a 75-yard touchdown run against the Cougars last week. The K-State defense has yet to allow a touchdown. The only points other than a field goal came when Washington State returned a Johnson interception into a return for a score. Tulane is coming off a historic season where it made the College Football Playoff, losing to the Ole Miss Rebels in the first round. After losing to the Duke Blue Devils in the season opener, they bounced back with a win against South Alabama. The Green Wave are the only thing standing in the way of the Wildcats completing an undefeated non-conference schedule. K-State opens Big 12 conference play next week on the road against the Cincinnati Bearcats.
QUOTABLE:
K-State coach Collin Klein on the Green Wave: "They're extremely well coached. They have a very sound defensive scheme that has been there now for a little while with two different coaches and done a really, really nice job. I think they tackle well. I think they do things from an alignment and a leverage standpoint that make things difficult."
QUOTABLE II:
Tulane coach Will Hall of this week: "We've got to improve, but I do love our intent with how we're going about working to improve. We were extremely explosive last week [against South Alabama], but we've got to be more consistent offensively to make sure that we control the ball to help our defense out."
