Elite 2028 OL Noah Seufale says Utah is “recruiting the hardest” ahead of gameday visit

Utah is making a strong early push for one of the best offensive linemen in the state in the 2028 class.

Orem offensive lineman Noah Va’afuti Seufale has watched his recruitment take off over the last several months, adding offers from programs like Oregon, Wisconsin, BYU, and Arizona to an offer sheet that already included Utah, Washington, Arkansas, Nebraska, and others.

But heading into another trip to Rice-Eccles Stadium this weekend for Utah’s game against Utah State, Seufale made it clear which program is pushing the hardest right now.

“The U is definitely recruiting the hardest right now for sure and are definitely in my top schools,” Seufale told me. “The love they’ve shown doesn’t compare.”

That relationship with Utah actually goes back a while.

Seufale first got around the program as a freshman when he attended one of Utah’s spring practices. After touring the facilities and sitting in on position meetings, he met with then-offensive line coach Jim Harding and received the offer.

“I took a visit my freshman year to one of Utah's spring practices,” Seufale said. “I toured all the facilities before going into the position meetings. After that, I met with Coach Harding. As I got to meet him, he extended the offer.”

For a local kid who grew up watching Utah, that one meant a lot.

“It was just a surreal moment for me growing up here in Utah watching the Utes play every Saturday night,” Seufale said. “Definitely a full circle moment.”

A lot has changed since then. Morgan Scalley is now running the program, and Jordan Gross has taken over the offensive line room. Gross returned to Utah in January after an 11-year NFL career that started when Carolina selected him eighth overall in the 2003 NFL Draft.

Seufale already likes what he has seen from Utah’s new offensive line coach.

“His love for the game and who he is off the field,” Seufale said of Gross. “He’s the nicest guy with me and genuinely cares about the men he coaches.”

That relationship will be important in this recruitment. Seufale is still early in the process, but Utah has a real opportunity here. He is an in-state prospect, the Utes were involved early, and now the new staff has continued building on that relationship rather than starting over.

This weekend will give him another chance to see what Scalley’s version of Utah football looks like up close.

“One thing I’m very excited to see is the RSNB culture in person,” Seufale said. “It’s a different coaching staff than the one that offered me my freshman year. I’m just pumped to see what they have in store.”

RSNB. Relentless, Smart, Nasty, Ballhawks started as the identity of Scalley’s defense and has become a program-wide part of the culture since he took over as head coach.

And when I asked what Utah still needs to show him to keep climbing in his recruitment, the answer was pretty simple.

“I would say continue showing out every Saturday and spreading the culture they preach.”

Seufale is also seeing progress in his own game. Unhappy with where he was physically last season, he made mobility a major offseason focus and changed his body to put himself in a better position this fall.

“Mobility for sure,” Seufale said when asked where he has made his biggest jump. “I’ve cut a lot since last season. I wasn’t happy with my performance and a lot of the times it was my body holding me back. Now I’m in a better position to give my boys my all this season.”

There is still a long way to go in a 2028 recruitment, especially for a prospect whose offer list continues to grow.

But Utah has done what it needed to do early.

They offered Seufale young, stayed involved through a coaching change, and now Gross and the new staff are making him feel like a priority.

Right now, Seufale says Utah is recruiting him harder than anyone else. That is a pretty good place to be heading into another gameday visit.
