No. 15 Penn State (2-0) welcomes the Buffalo Bulls (1-1) to Beaver Stadium for a Week 3 matchup to wrap up its non-conference portion of the schedule. Penn State is expected to be able to put its Week 3 game on cruise control relatively early, but there will be plenty of focus on what the Nittany Lions manage to do with the running game this week.
Penn State is coming off a 27-9 victory against Temple in Week 2. The road trip to Philadelphia saw a sluggish start from the offense with missed opportunities early in the game. Much of that fell on the lack of push from the running game to pick up some crucial yards, which has led to some conversations this week for the offensive coaching staff and players. Carson Hansen is actually ahead of his 2025 pace, but the expectations are a bit higher for the ground attack with Big Ten play looking.
Buffalo comes to Happy Valley with a 1-1 record following a loss to FIU last week. Penn State leads the all-time series with Buffalo, 3-1, with the lone loss coming back in 1900. If things go according to plan on Saturday afternoon, Penn State should easily improve its all-time record against the Bulls to 4-1 with ease.
