Lane Kiffin's return to Oxford, Mississippi, as head coach of LSU has been one of the most-anticipated matchups of the 2026 college football season. The now-Ole Miss head coach will surely get a rude welcome when he steps inside Vaught-Hemingway Stadium on Saturday night.
Hours before LSU and Ole Miss kick off, the vitriol towards Kiffin began with "College Gameday" in town and fans eager to express their displeasure with their former coach.
It didn't take long for the "F*** Lane Kiffin" chants to begin.

The Ole Miss faithful later had the opportunity to make sure that Kiffin heard that sentiment directly after he was introduced for an interview during the show.

The anger continued during the interview with fans chanting "A**hole! A**hole!" before bringing back the "F*** Lane Kiffin" chants as Kiffin spoke to the "Gameday" panel.

Kiffin didn't bite and kept his focus on the game and not everything else surrounding the matchup between the two top-10 teams, which obviously is centered around his departure to LSU.
"You know, both teams have great players, great coaches, have a lot of respect for their program," Kiffin said. "So, we just felt the players performing really well tonight in a really awesome matchup. Two top-10 teams, national team of the week. So, both programs should be really exciting."
Kiffin talked about the emotions swirling around the game and the importance of his players to worry about matters on the field.
"Obviously, it's going to be there," Kiffin said. "There's going to be some expression for some of these coaches coming back for most points and players coming back, but to play on execution.
"And this will be a really competitive game for a long period of time with a lot of plays. So, you've got to really stay focused and not listen to all the noise and all chatter if you can."
Kickoff for LSU at Ole Miss is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday night and will be televised on ABC.
