Austin Peay football (2-1, 0-0 United) opens up United Athletic Conference play against West Florida (2-0, 0-0 United) on Sept. 19 at PenAir Field in Ferry Pass, Florida, at 6 p.m. CT.

The Governors are coming off a romping win over Morehead State, 63-7, on Sept. 12 in Clarksville. Quarterback Chris Parson threw for 260 yards and three touchdowns. Wide receiver Denver Harper had two touchdown grabs on three receptions for 124 yards.

This is the first-ever meeting between the Governors and the Argonauts. This is also West Florida's first season in NCAA Division I FCS. Austin Peay ranks 14th and West Florida is 17th in the latest FCS Top 25 poll.

Austin Peay 44, West Florida 38: The Argonauts are looking to knock out a third straight ranked opponent. They beat No. 16 Southern Illinois, 34-31, in Week 1 and followed that with a 42-14 win over No. 24 Central Arkansas. This will be a great quarterback battle between Chris Parson and Ty'Ray Davis. The Governors put nearly 700 yards of total offense against Morehead State, and West Florida had over 400 yards against Central Arkansas. The Governors have a slight edge here in what should be an offensive showcase.
