Indiana football took on Western Kentucky in Week 3 amid injuries to two defensive tackles and came through with flying colors, winning 38-0 at Memorial Stadium in Bloomington. Curt Cignetti’s Hoosiers entered the week as a riser in the college football power rankings and took care of business behind 127 receiving yards from Charlie Becker.

Following the game, NFL insider Jordan Schultz revealed that scouts are keeping a close watch on the 6-foot-4, 210-pound Indiana receiver, who possesses traits that could get him drafted early.

“Keep a close eye on Indiana star WR Charlie Becker: 6-4, 210 pounds with game-breaking speed, elite athleticism and burst — with 5 TDs in three games this season. It’s early, but the NFL clubs I’ve spoke with are raving about his pro-style game already.”

Becker, still a junior, had four catches for 64 yards in Cignetti’s team’s 27-21 win over the Miami Hurricanes in the 2025-26 national championship game and has only improved since. His size allows him to make contested catches over smaller defenders while his hands, route-running and speed continue to impress.

Becker was discussed as a future WR2 in the NFL before the season with some scouts believing he is even faster than Omar Cooper, who also starred against the Hurricanes last season and ran a 4.42 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine. Hoosiers quarterback Josh Hoover has looked good since transferring from TCU this offseason, giving Indiana plenty of momentum heading into Week 4 against Aidan Chiles and the Northwestern Wildcats.

October 17, a showcase game against Ohio State in Bloomington, will give Becker a chance to duel with Buckeyes superstar Jeremiah Smith. Win that game, and Becker could find himself in early-round territory by the time the 2027 NFL Draft rolls around.
