As the No. 8 Ole Miss Rebels got some revenge against Lane Kiffin on Saturday night in front of a rowdy home crowd, the LSU Tigers head coach took plenty of heat.
Kiffin, of course, has been the focus of the LSU-Ole Miss feud since he left the latter after the 2025 regular season right before the Rebels’ postseason run.
Rebels fans had this game circled on the 2026 schedule, while Ole Miss players faced repeated questions about Kiffin’s return, so it was only fair that fans and analysts took aim at Kiffin when the result didn’t go LSU’s way.

When all was said and done, Ole Miss wrapped up a 32-24 win, as reactions and overreactions poured out on social media.
Heisman Trophy winner and former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III commented on what happened when Kiffin came back to Oxford.
Griffin remarked, “Lane Kiffin got beat by the team that he built and by the QB he recruited, and that wouldn’t go to LSU with him.”
That quarterback, of course, is Ole Miss starter Trinidad Chambliss, who led the Rebels downfield and scored the go-ahead touchdown himself.
Influencer Jake Paul didn’t miss out on the Kiffin bashing, either. Paul took time away from watching Ole Miss celebrate on the field and wrote, “HAHAHAHA LANE KIFFIN A [expletive]!!!”
The RedditCFB account posted some pointed words about what Kiffin did by leaving Ole Miss for a bigger budget at LSU. The account posted online, “Imagine what a good coach like Lane Kiffin could do at a school with resources like Ole Miss.”

One fan had an idea about seeing Kiffin getting tackled on the field. The fan wrote, “The fact Ole Miss isn’t storming the field is soft. I want to see Lane Kiffin get tackled by a sophomore.”
Another influencer didn’t hold back, either, while criticizing Kiffin and the job he took on leading the Tigers’ football program.
He said, “Lane Kiffin could’ve died a legend at Ole Miss by bringing the school some national championships, but now he’s just going to be remembered as another [expletive] like Brian Kelly.”
One college football fan put a rather unique spin on Kiffin’s journey from Ole Miss to LSU. This fan posted, “Lane Kiffin needed Ole Miss … Ole Miss didn’t need Lane Kiffin”
Kiffin coached Chambliss at Ole Miss in 2025, and the quarterback later chose to stay in Oxford instead of following him to LSU. Kiffin then brought in Sam Leavitt from Arizona State to lead LSU’s offense.

Both are mobile transfer quarterbacks who can contribute with their legs, even though they took different paths to their current teams.
Kiffin now gets to stew, mostly in private, over his less-than-impressive return to Ole Miss. The Rebels, though, are glad to celebrate this victory in public.
