Florida promoted in CBS Sports' college football re-rank after Week 3

Jon Sumrall's debut campaign at the helm of Florida football continued its hot start last weekend with a 44-39 road win over Auburn to mark the program's first perfect record after three games since 2019.
The Gators controlled the game most of the way, getting on the scoreboard first before the Tigers tied things up at 17 apiece with over five minutes remaining in the second quarter. UF then scored 17 unanswered points, but the home team made things interesting in the final minutes; however, it was too little, too late for Auburn at that point.
Following college football's Week 3 action, CBS Sports writer Chip Patterson published his latest college football re-rank, with Florida moving up six spots from No. 22 to No. 16. The Orange and Blue now sit between No. 15 Utah and No. 17 Louisville in the standings.
Florida also saw improvement in the major rankings as well, moving back into the US LBM Coaches Poll top 25 to No. 22, while making its first appearance in the AP Top 25 since the 2025 preseason landing at No. 21.
SEC schools in CBS Sports' re-rank top 25 after Week 3
The SEC has 10 schools among the top 25 in CBS Sports' re-rank this week, with Texas, Georgia and Ole Miss, respectively, occupying the top three spots. They are followed by Alabama (No. 8), LSU (No. 10), Tennessee (No. 13), Florida (No. 16), Missouri (No. 19), Mississippi State (No. 21) and Texas A&M (No. 23). Kentucky is on the outside of the group looking in at No. 27.
