Saturday’s Week 4 college football schedule is loaded with some fantastic matchups, particularly in the Southeastern Conference. While ESPN College GameDay isn’t headed to Gainesville this weekend, millions of eyes will still be tuned in to watch a must-see SEC battle between the Ole Miss Rebels and Florida Gators on Saturday afternoon.

Let’s dive into our bold predictions for Ole Miss vs Florida in The Swamp.

Aaron philo Sets Career-High in Rushing Yards

In his first year as a full-time starter, Gators quarterback Aaron Philo hasn’t had many opportunities to tuck it and run. He enters Week 4 with just a single run of 10-plus yards, coming last Saturday at Auburn, and he has just 55 rushing yards on the season. We’re predicting him to surpass that total in The Swamp against this Rebels defense. Ole Miss has had real issues defending mobile quarterbacks, allowing 69 yards to Louisville’s Lincoln Kienholz despite sacking him 3 times, and 63 rushing yards to LSU’s Sam Leavitt even with 2 sacks taken. Philo, standing at 6-foot-1 and 207 pounds, demonstrated back in 2024 against NC State (57 yards and a touchdown) that he’s a very capable runner. We think Gators offensive coordinator Buster Faulkner will see an opportunity here, leading to Philo rushing for 58-plus yards.

Traylon Ray Finds the End Zone, Puts Up 80+ Receiving Yards

Ole Miss wide receiver Traylon Ray was instrumental in the team’s 32-24 win over LSU, pulling down seven receptions for 115 receiving yards and a touchdown. Trinidad Chambliss targeted him 8 times against the Tigers’ secondary, doubling the four targets he had in the first two games. Ray, a Florida native, should see another high target share in his return home. The 6-foot-2 wideout should be able to win some of his one-on-one matchups with Gators cornerback Ben Hanks III (6-foot-1), especially with Florida keying in on Deuce Alexander. We expect Chambliss to reward Ray for his breakout performance, resulting in a second consecutive game with 80-plus receiving yards and a touchdown.

Jadan Baugh Erupts for 175+ Rushing Yards and 3 Touchdowns

Jadan Baugh might be the best running back in college football. Jon Sumrall has rightfully made the 6-foot-1 running back the centerpiece of the Gators offense. Entering Week 4, Baugh ranks second nationally in rushing yards (458) and his yards-per-carry average (8.5) is a full yard higher than the second-best running back (Torrance Burgess Jr., 7.4) with 50-plus carries. Now the 225 lb. ball-carrier gets to take on an Ole Miss defense that ranks 72nd in yards-per-carry average allowed and 77th in rushing first downs per game allowed (8.3). This is exactly the kind of game where Baugh should get 25-plus carries, potentially even rival his workload from last year against Florida State (266 yards on 36 carries). As long as he’s given the right workload, we believe Baugh can find the end zone three times and at least challenge for a 200-yard performance.

Trinidad Chambliss Accounts for 5 Total Touchdowns

Saturday’s performance against LSU solidified that Trinidad Chambliss is the best player in college football. If he can do that against the Tigers defense, given the magnitude of that game, we have no doubt the Ole Miss quarterback can handle himself in The Swamp. We’re just a week removed from this same Florida defense allowing Auburn quarterback Byrum Brown to put up 336 total yards (271 passing and 65 rushing) with four total touchdowns in a 44-39 game. Mississippi’s offensive line is also better than Auburn’s, and Chambliss is better at avoiding sacks than Brown (seven taken in Week 3). Another Heisman Trophy-caliber performance is coming this Saturday from Chambliss.

Florida Gators, Ole Miss Rebels Score 70-Plus Points

The current line for Ole Miss vs Florida is at 58.5 total points. Quite frankly, we think that mark could be surpassed in the third quarter. Mississippi’s run defense is a very real problem, and the Gators’ offense is perfectly suited to exploit it. Likewise, we don’t see any reason why the Rebels offense can’t light up the scoreboard against a Florida defense that allowed 39 points, 373 total yards, and a 50% third-down conversion rate to Auburn. We’ll also be keeping an eye on Gators wide receiver Vernell Brown III in this matchup. Mississippi’s punt coverage hasn’t really been tested much this season, and Brown (34.6 average yards per punt return) is dangerous. In a very high-scoring game, we think the electric sophomore adds to the highlight reel with a touchdown and well over 100 all-purpose yards.
