Texas A&M predicted to face Big Ten blue-blood in the Music City Bowl

Texas A&M's chances of making the College Football Playoff for a second straight season took a massive hit after Saturday's shocking home loss to unranked Kentucky, falling 31-21, as starting quarterback Marcel Reed threw two interceptions, combined with the Aggie defense falling flat in run defense, while the secondary struggled to cover and tackle in space.

Marcel Reed has received the bulk of the blame, but this was a team loss, and third-year coach Mike Elko, who said directly after the game that there were "no positives" from the loss, knows the pressure is on the Aggies to turn things around. However, the schedule only gets tougher from here on out, starting with LSU in Baton Rouge on Saturday night.

If the Aggies fall to LSU after defeating the Tigers two consecutive seasons, including last year's 49-25 beatdown in Death Valley, It's safe to say that an 8-4 or 7-5 finish, or worse, will be in the works. If that happens, the goal will be bowl eligibility, and On3's Brett McMurphy now predicts Texas A&M will face Nebraska in the Music City Bowl in Nashville, Tennessee, on December 30.

Texas A&M's history with the Cornhuskers dates back to their first meeting in 1930, while the Aggies' defense-led 9-6 win in Kyle Field during the 2010 season marks the last time the two teams met on the field. Nebraska is 3-0 on the year, but starts Big Ten play this weekend against Michigan State.
