College Football SEC power rankings entering Week 4

We have our first big dropout of the top-10 in the SEC this college football season. Oklahoma is falling out of the top-10 this week after a 14-6 win over New Mexico. For starters, they haven’t fixed their problems from last year offensively.
But also, the SEC is so deep this year that you have to do better than a 14-6 victory over New Mexico to maintain your spot. Even teams with impressive wins, like Kentucky, don’t instantly find the top-10. Auburn and South Carolina represented themselves well in close losses — still not good enough for the top-10. It just means more.

10. Missouri
It’s easy to forget that Missouri has played the whole season to this point without the services of Ahmad Hardy. Jamal Roberts has filled in admirably, and his 128 rushing yards helped the Tigers to a ho-hum 27-17 victory over Troy in Week 3.
9. Texas A&M
Marcel Reed, it’s time to look in the mirror. This is a talented offense with a great receiving core. Mike Elko is a great defensive coach, and this team doesn’t have issues with penalties or special teams. But thanks to Marcel Reed’s two interceptions, Texas A&M lost their conference opener to Kentucky. If this team wants to achieve their goals for the 2026 season, Marcel Reed has to be better. Period.
8. Tennessee
Faizon Brandon and the Vols cruised to a 42-9 victory over Kennesaw State to move to 3-0. This week is the big test for Tennessee — #1 Texas is coming to town. This will be Brandon’s first SEC game, and first game against a really good defense. It’ll be interesting to see how he responds.

7. Florida
The Gators were very impressive in a 44-39 victory over Auburn. Jadan Baugh is a bona fide star. He rushed for 162 yards and 3 TDs. It’s early, but Jon Sumrall is looking like a great hire.
6. Mississippi State
Kamario Taylor is going to get paid a lot of money this offseason. Whether it’s to stay in Starkville or to go play somewhere else, he’s going to fetch a pretty penny. This guy just has the “it” factor — the ball just looks different coming out of his hand, and he throws with incredible velocity. He’s also one of the best athletes at the position in all of college football.
5. LSU
LSU takes a small drop this week after losing to Ole Miss 32-24. The Lane Kiffin-led offense wasn’t exactly efficient in that outing, with Sam Leavitt only throwing for 158 yards. Maybe it will do them well to return to a more normalized game environment with Texas A&M coming to Baton Rouge this week.
4. Alabama
Keelon Russell made a giant leap forward in Week 3, throwing for 320 yards and 3 TDs and adding a 57-yard rushing TD in a 50-36 victory over Florida State. If he continues to improve with time, this passing offense could be scary by the end of the season.

3. Ole Miss
How could you not move Ole Miss up after their emotional victory over LSU? Trinidad Chambliss was outstanding with his arm and his legs. His size may limit his upside as a pro prospect, but he may just be the best quarterback in all of college football in 2026.
2. Georgia
Georgia turned the Razorbacks into pulled pork in an efficient 45-17 victory that was more lopsided than that score indicates. When you treat a conference opponent like a G6 team, you’ve officially demonstrated your dominance over the league. Or maybe Arkansas is just that bad.
1. Texas
This week was a little bit of a comedown after the high that was Week 2 for the Longhorns. But a 30-6 victory will get the job done. The good news — Cam Coleman continues to get integrated into the passing offense, scoring 2 TDs in Week 3.
