College Football Blogpoll 2026: Week 3

With a few games under our belts both in conference and with some cross-conference matchups, there’s a little bit of clarity starting to appear with who in College Football might be #good, and who #isn’t. We here at Roll Bama Roll are, as always, fans of cold, hard facts, and, of course, our own disregarding of them when necessary.
Stats lie, especially in college football. But hey, there’s nothing wrong with crowdsourcing. Here’s the offense/defensive scatter chart from Bill Radjewski (CollegeFootballData.com):

That’s a whole lot of numbers, and who knows how much they mean. So, from the eyes and opinions of Roll Bama Roll, here are our opinions:

Top eight
Miami is still the tops for me. They ended 2025 on an excellent bit of play, and Darian Mensah and Malachi Toney are probably the best and most exciting QB-WR duo in the country. They struggled a little more than expected vs Wake Forest and haven’t really played anyone (nor will they until November), but the eyeballs tell me what they tell me.
Georgia still has the best coach in college football. They’ve waxed everyone on their easy start to the season. Until I see otherwise, never bet against Kirby Smart
I’ll admit, I don’t actually think Texas can maintain this ranking. They’re talented, but I think there are more holes than many believe. Still, they beat Ohio State, somehow, and that counts for more than anything anyone else has done this season.
Ohio State is still a top 5 team (probably top 3) that just happened to lose a weird one to the Longhorns. They have the best collection of players in the country, and I don’t expect they’ll lose again.
Ole Miss is riding high after last week’s revenge win. They have a veteran star QB and a whole lot of spunk. The real question to me is if they can maintain the energy now that they’ve vanquished their demon. I’m not sold that they can and won’t be surprised if they drop a game soon.
Notre Dame – Sure, they’re beating up on soup cans (and still got a struggle win vs Michigan State). I’ll leave them here for now because it’s hard to say they aren’t good, but I don’t trust them whatsoever.
Indiana has Charlie Becker who is a crazy good wide receiver, but we’re all still in wait-and-see mode with the Hoosiers to see if they can get back to last year’s veteran success.
Alabama is so hot and cold it’s hard to know what to do with them. For two weeks, they had the best defense in the country – then it couldn’t figure out how to defend the deep ball for an entire game vs Florida State. On offense, the Tide looks awful in the first half, then young QB Keelon Russell looks like the best QB in the country in the second half. First half Alabama is barely a top 16 squad. Second half Alabama is probably in the top 3. We’ll put them at 8.
The rest
I am higher on Louisville than most – they’ve played excellent and lost a close one to Ole Miss. I’m also jumping on the Mississippi State train now. They’re still working out some things on defense, but some of their offensive stats are putting them in “best in the country” conversations. It also seems like Florida is showing some life in year 1 with their new coach.
On the other hand, I’ve dropped Texas A&M and Oregon nearly out of the top 25. Neither have looked like functional contenders. At this point they’re only coasting on reputation from last season.
