Each week throughout the college football regular season, SyracuseRoundtable will bring you the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) power rankings. The rankings will help give a clearer picture as to how the top teams in the conference stack up against one another. In December, the top two teams will compete in Charlotte, N.C., not for just the conference title, but a berth in the College Football Playoff.

So, where does Syracuse football rank now after losing to Pittsburgh in Week 3? 

No. 1 Miami

The Hurricanes stay steady at the top spot despite being tested by Wake Forest on Friday night. The Demon Deacons kept it close, Miami eventually lost 33-20. Malachi Toney continues to be a top player, not just in the ACC but perhaps in the entire country. Miami will likely be favored in every conference game remaining on its schedule.

No. 2 Louisville and No. 3 SMU

Last week, both teams were grouped together because of the scheduled Saturday matchup. SMU beat Louisville 41-31, but both teams were evenly matched throughout the game and still have a strong chance to play again in the conference title game. The head-to-head tiebreaker could play a pivotal role later this season if both teams are in position for a conference title berth. 

No. 4 Virginia Tech and No. 5 Virginia

The schools swap spots this week after non-conference games for both schools. The Hokies, led by first year head coach James Franklin, defeated Maryland on the road 35-26. As for Virginia, the Cavaliers fell to West Virginia 38-27. The Cavaliers avoid Miami and Louisville on their schedule while Virginia Tech will take on Miami in November. That could be a major separator here.

The Orange avoid falling further despite losing to Pittsburgh on Thursday night, but there are major questions for this group. First and foremost, who is the starting quarterback going to be moving forward? That decision could weigh heavily on the outlook for Fran Brown's team moving forward.

No. 16 Boston College

No. 17 Stanford

What ACC matchups are taking place this weekend?

On Friday night, California hosts Clemson. Kickoff is set for 10:30 p.m. ET.

Wake Forest travels to take on Louisville and Boston College hosts Virginia Tech. Both games are set to kick off on Saturday at noon ET. 

The final game in ACC conference play features Stanford hosting Georgia Tech with a late night kick set for at 10:30 p.m. ET.
