Former LSU football RB emerges as key player for Ole Miss

LSU football faced one of its former players when it faced Ole Miss on Oxford during Week 3. Running back JT Lindsey turned into a crucial part of the Rebels' offense in the top-10 showdown and helped them win the game.

Ole Miss' top running back Kewan Lacy exited the game with a shoulder injury. The reduced depth increased Lindsey's workload. He took four carries for 20 yards and caught a pass for eight yards. His first carry, in the third quarter, went for 11 yards on a drive that ended in a missed field goal attempt.

Lindsey played a major role in helping Ole Miss convert a critical fourth-and-one in the fourth quarter. He took a direct snap and plunged forward for two yards to move the chains. He got three more touches in the drive that ended with a 14-yard touchdown run by Trinidad Chambliss. Lindsey found the end zone on the ensuing two-point conversion to put the Rebels up by eight.

A consensus four-star prospect in the 2025 class, Lindsey formed one of the nation's highest-rated true freshman running back duos with Harlem Berry. He hails from Alexandria, LA.
