Ohio State looks to start the Big Ten Conference slate 1-0 this weekend vs. Illinois
Ohio State must not look past an always game Illinois and ahead to a ranked matchup at Iowa this Saturday.
The Buckeyes (2-1 overall) got back to their winning ways with a one-sided 59-3 victory over Kent State last weekend. That followed a tough 24-23 loss at Texas in which they failed to hold a second half lead.

Head coach Ryan Day stressed finishing the job, and that is what Ohio State did.
Julian Sayin has thrown for at least 240 yards in all three games, including a season-high 320 in the opener vs. Ball State. Bo Jackson has led the Buckeyes in rushing each time out, going for 83, 84 and 73.
Jeremiah Smith, who became the career leader at the school in receiving yards, has two games with over 150 on the season. Smith had 85 last week in limited time on the field.
Ohio State’s defense has allowed just six total points on two field goals in games at home this season.
Illinois Presents A Dangerous Opponent With Iowa, Indiana, USC Lurking
If the Big Ten Conference has proven anything over the years, it is that you cannot look past anyone on any given weekend.
The Buckeyes are set to travel to Iowa next Saturday for a ranked battle. After hosting Maryland, they play defending national champion Indiana and USC on the road in consecutive games.
But Illinois must be at the forefront and get the full attention of Ohio State. The Fighting Illini have topped both UAB and Southern Illinois around a four-point loss to Duke. Katin Houser has thrown for 758 yards and eight touchdowns, with Collin Dixon catching seven of those scoring strikes.
Dixon has 25 receptions for 367 yards on the season. Calil Valentine leads the ground attack with 177 yards and a score.
