Texas A&M fans should be rooting for a Wolverines' win and chaos in the SEC to help punch College Football Playoff ticket as top seed

The eyes of Texas are all on Austin this weekend, as the Texas A&M Aggies are set to take on the Texas Longhorns in their biggest game of the season. Win, and the Aggies punch a ticket to the SEC Championship. Lose, and they won’t get to Atlanta without further chaos around the country.
Fortunately, they are already locks to make the College Football Playoff, and will almost certainly be one of the four top seeds and earn a bye in the first-round. However, getting to one of the top two seeds is still doable, including the coveted No. 1 seed currently held by the Buckeyes. To get there, they need some chaos to happen over the weekend.
Which teams should Texas A&M fans be rooting for this weekend to secure a trip to both the SEC Championship Game and strengthen their bid for a top two seed?
#15 Michigan OVER #1 Ohio State
This one is a given. Michigan taking down the Ohio State Buckeyes would immediately force a debate between the Aggies and Indiana Hoosiers for the top seed, and it’s one that I think the Aggies would win if they beat the Longhorns with another ranked win under their belt, especially with further chaos throughout the weekend that could tank the Hoosiers’ strength of schedule.
It seems unlikely, but never say never when it comes to The Game.
Auburn OVER #10 Alabama
I’ve gone back and forth on this one for a bit. On one hand, I think the Aggies would rather play the Alabama Crimson Tide than the Georgia Bulldogs or Ole Miss Rebels, and Alabama winning would guarantee that matchup.
On the other, Auburn winning would further boost A&M’s strength of schedule. Additionally, Alabama going down would help keep the Aggies in the SEC Championship if they did slip up on Friday against Texas.
Mississippi State OVER #7 Ole Miss
This is essentially the same argument as Auburn over Alabama. A Bulldogs’ win further enhances A&M’s strength of schedule. Additionally, if A&M loses to Texas, an Ole Miss loss also helps keep the Aggies in the SEC Championship game.
Washington OVER #6 Oregon
If Washington takes down Oregon over the weekend, it knocks Indiana’s best win down a peg in terms of its quality. Oregon is currently the Hoosiers’ only ranked win, and keeping them above Notre Dame has been Indiana’s saving grace in the discussion to stay ahead of Texas A&M in the College Football Playoff rankings. If Oregon drops from sixth to out of the top ten with a loss this weekend, there’s no arguments left for Indiana to stay ahead of A&M, which will be a key point of discussion if The Game goes A&M’s way.
