Eli Manning says Arch will have to 'figure out' media, learn when to 'relax'

Much has been made of the much more succinct Arch Manning that showed up ahead of Texas' matchup with Tennessee. But to Eli Manning, it's part of the business.
After Arch made headlines following Texas' win over Ohio State for his comments about an AI-generated video of Texas coach Steve Sarkisian slapping ESPN reporter Holly Rowe, he issued a public apology that Rowe then publicly accepted, thus seemingly burying the hatchet.
According to Arch's uncle, those are just the kinds of situations Arch needs to learn to navigate on his own.
“Most of my advice, more football stuff,” Manning told Front Office Sports. “He’ll have to figure out that media on his own, and a lot of it is just kind of growing pains. You feel like they’re your pal, you relax with them a little bit, you try to be funny, and then they can take it and run. So you just got to be careful. You got to find your moments where you can be funny, you can be relaxed, but there’s certain things that you know you just got to learn and deal with it. And I think he has learned, and he apologized and did the right steps in handling that."
Arch's demeanor in press this week was notably different, perhaps as a bit or perhaps as a correction. He kept his answers short and football related, declining to comment on extraneous topics.
The opponent, of course, might play into that. The Vols are a different team to prepare for than UTSA, so he may be focused on the week at hand. Either way, if any family has media experience, it's the Mannings.
