2 key Texas A&M players remain questionable before facing LSU

Texas A&M's offense and defense will look to rebound this weekend, which will be a tall ask against No. 10 LSU after falling to Kentucky at home 31-21 in Week 4, which, on its face, is the worst loss under third-year coach Mike Elko. However, much of that rage likely stems from the opponent: Kentucky is a basketball school with a first-year coach, Will Stein.

Turning the page, Mike Elko spoke at length this weekend, taking zero positives from the loss, while noting on Wednesday that the Aggies are coming off a solid week of practice, while starting quarterback Marcel Reed stated to TexAgs that he is focused on playing "free and loose," which was not the case against Kentucky, throwing two interceptions and missing too many "easy" throws.

The Aggies will go with their white helmets, maroon jerseys, and maroon pants for the first time since 2024, when Texas A&M defeated Arkansas, and while some fans simply don't care about the uniform combination, it's one of the more fun parts of the game.

On Thursday, nothing changed on the Aggies' injury report: redshirt sophomore wide receiver Ashton Bethel-Roman and sophomore running back Jamarion Morrow are still listed as "questionable" with a 50% chance to play, while only wide receiver Terry Bussey is out for the season. Freshman running back KJ Edwards remains off the injury report and is expected to play a big role in the Aggie rushing attack against LSU on Saturday night.

The next two days before the game will tell us whether Bethel-Roman and Morrow will take the field, but for the Aggies to have any real shot at an upset, it will take all hands on deck.
