Michigan State announces starting linebacker is out against Nebraska

Nebraska opens Big Ten play this Saturday on the road at Michigan State. The Spartans will be without a starter on the defensive side of the ball.

Linebacker Brady Pretzlaff has been declared out after getting injured during Michigan State's loss last weekend against Notre Dame. Pretzlaff left the game and did not return. For the season, he has 17 total tackles.

Nebraska has also been bitten by the injury bug. Coach Matt Rhule announced that tight end Carter Nelson is out with a leg injury. Nelson has been off to a slow start in 2026 with only one reception for six yards.

Nebraska faces Michigan State this Saturday in East Lansing, MI. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. CT on BTN.
