The Georgia Bulldogs are 3-0 and they'll host a 2-1 Oklahoma Sooners team looking to make a statement after struggling to put away New Mexico a week ago. There is a lot of buzz about this game from both Bulldogs and Sooners fans since this is the first meeting between the two programs in eight years.

The Oklahoma will be Georgia's biggest test at home this year. The Bulldogs have been spectacular to this point offensively. They currently have the No. 1 scoring offense in the nation but will be tested by Oklahoma's scrappy defense.

"The way they go about their business," Georgia coach, Kirby Smart said on the Oklahoma defense. "They are violent, they play hard, they play with a purpose, they are very intelligent…They do a great job of formationing things and understanding what your tendencies are. They play really hard."

Here are three reasons the Bulldogs will beat the Sooners

Georgia's defense will shutdown Oklahoma

The Bulldogs will certainly have their work cut out for them facing a quarterback like John Mateer. However, they can go into this contest with something to hang their hat on as far as what they have been able to do to this point. Georgia's defense is giving up just 13.3 points per game and 211.3 total yards per game through three games this season. They are only allowing an average of 45.7 rushing yards and 165.7 passing yards. Georgia's front seven will be the biggest challenge for Oklahoma to contain.

Georgia's special teams will hold the line

Georgia has been extremely solid on the special teams unit so far this year and some of the new faces are making a big difference. In the return units, Sacovie White-Helton is off to an outstanding start in the return game while brining his speed and elusiveness to the table. Also, Craig Dandridge has been a key factor in the return game for the Bulldogs.

In the kicking game, Peyton Woodring is a veteran who is fully reliable and steady as the Bulldogs placekicker. As for punting duties, Drew Miller has stepped into a big role and is trusted to showcase his powerful leg to keep returners at bay.

Oklahoma has a strong special teams with five All-SEC specialists, but Georgia has enough talent on special teams to keep pace with the Sooners.

Georgia's offense is superior

Georgia's offense stands at the No. 3 spot in the SEC with 539.0 total yards per game through three games. Averaging 59.3 points per game, the Bulldogs score quickly and momentum starts to roll for them early and often.

The passing game has been solid with 285.7 yards per game with a perfect balance of the rushing attack averaging 253.3 yards per game. The balance will be the difference for the Bulldogs and a major advantage when taking on Oklahoma, who has struggled to establish the run and has scored just 24 points over their last two games.
