Navy comes in off a disappointing 38-30 loss at Florida Atlantic. The Midshipmen rushed for 264 yards, with Jackson Gutierrez leading the team with 100 yards and Braxton Woodson adding 96. Navy trailed 38-14 entering the fourth quarter before scoring 16 unanswered points, but the comeback fell short. The Midshipmen had opened the season with a 42-15 win over Towson.
UAB enters the matchup on a losing note as well, after a 21-14 loss at Louisiana. Quarterback Ryder Burton completed 15 of 27 passes for 144 yards, while Rod Robinson II led the Blazers with 52 rushing yards and Ty Mims added 57 receiving yards. UAB finished with only 218 total yards and 11 first downs, but its defense forced two fumbles and Chris Burge returned one 13 yards for a touchdown. The Blazers return home for their American Conference opener after splitting their first two road games.
