The Florida football team is off to a great start, under new head coach Jon Sumrall. The Gators enter a game Saturday with Ole Miss, in a matchup of ranked teams. Florida has a concerning injury as the game approaches.
“Florida star wide receiver Eric Singleton (ankle) will be a game-time decision today against No. 4 Ole Miss but there’s optimism he could end up being available vs. the Rebels, sources tell CBS Sports,” reporter Matt Zenitz posted to X, formerly Twitter. “A final decision will be made pre-game. Has missed the last two games.”
Florida has a monster of a matchup with Ole Miss. The Rebels just earned an emotional win over LSU in their last game. It was a reunion of sorts with former Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin, who is now the head coach at LSU.

Ole Miss also has one of the top quarterbacks in the country in Trinidad Chambliss.
“We have to be prepared because they’re the best team we’ve played so far,” Florida head coach Sumrall said, per The Gainesville Sun.
The Gators are off to an electric start under Sumrall. He joined Florida this season after previously coaching at Tulane. He already has Florida football fans thinking about a possible berth to the College Football Playoff this season.
“UF is off to its first 3-0 start since 2019 and has scored 162 points in three games, the most points in program history under a first-year coach,” The Sun added.
Florida and Ole Miss battle Saturday at 3:30 ET. The Gators have wins this season over Auburn, Campbell and Florida Atlantic. The Gators have scored more than 40 points in each of their wins.
