The Oklahoma Sooners look to get off to a strong start in SEC play as they take on the No. 2 Georgia Bulldogs in Athens, Ga., on Saturday. Oklahoma is 2-1 and coming off a 14-6 win over New Mexico. The Bulldogs are 3-0 on the season. Their most recent performance was a 45-17 win over the Arkansas Razorbacks to kick off their conference slate 1-0.

The Sooners have been led by their defense in 2026. They've played well for the most part, but this will be their biggest test yet. Georgia leads the nation in scoring at 59.3 points per game. The Sooners are tied for No. 4 in the nation in scoring defense this season, allowing just 7.7 points per game.

This will be the biggest test to date for both teams. But the biggest question mark is about an Oklahoma offense that has struggled to move the football each of the last two weeks. The Sooners need John Mateer to elevate his game and find a spark in the passing game.

The Georgia Bulldogs are led on offense by one of the most underrated quarterbacks in the sport, Gunner Stockton. His dual-threat ability makes him a weapon for the Dawgs. In addition to Stockton, all eyes will be on running back Nate Frazier. He's off to a great start to the season but is questionable for this week's matchup vs. the Sooners.

Georgia will look to run the ball to see how the Sooners' defensive front holds up. Especially if star defensive tackle David Stone is unavailable for this week.
