The Illinois Fighting Illini (2-1) are set for their first road test of the season on Saturday, when they take on the No. 7 Ohio State Buckeyes (2-1) in their Big Ten opener.

Both teams enter the game with a Week 2 loss against a Power Four nonconference opponent. Illinois fell to Duke, 31-27, while the Buckeyes were defeated by the now-No. 1 team in the country, the Texas Longhorns.

Ohio State has won 10 consecutive games against the Fighting Illini, including a 34-16 win in Champaign last season. Illinois hasn't beaten the Buckeyes since 2007, when the Illini came away with a 28-21 victory in Columbus.

Saturday's game provides an opportunity for Bret Bielema's squad to prove they can contend with the top teams in the Big Ten. The Illini went 1-2 against ranked opponents last season, defeating USC but losing to the Buckeyes and the eventual national champion Indiana Hoosiers.
