Ole Miss football coach Lane Kiffin‘s son Knox Kiffin will lead Oxford vs Tupelo in the Mississippi high school football Class 7A semifinals on Nov. 28.
Knox Kiffin is a sophomore quarterback and Class of 2028 prospect who has played in the past six games at quarterback for Oxford (11-1), taking over when the starter got injured. That included leading comeback wins in the first two games.
Knox Kiffin was 12-for-20 for 207 yards and one touchdown in Oxford’s 37-27 second-round win over Horn Lake on Nov. 21. He also rushed for 74 yards and a touchdown on seven carries.
The winner of the Oxford-Tupelo game will play the winner of the Brandon-Gulfport game in the Class 7A championship game on Dec. 6 in Starkville at Mississippi State’s Davis Wade Stadium.
Lane Kiffin will lead No. 6 Ole Miss into the Egg Bowl at Mississippi State earlier in the day.

Lane Kiffin’s family has been thrust in the spotlight of the LSU and Florida coaching search. According to multiple reports, some Kiffin family members visited Gainesville, Florida, and Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in the days after Ole Miss beat Florida on Nov. 15.
On3 reported that Kiffin’s son, Knox, and ex-wife Layla met with Buchholz High School football coach Mark Whittemore on Nov. 16. His team is 10-1. Buchholz is in Gainesville, and it is where Layla went to high school, according to the report.
In an SEC teleconference on Nov. 19, Kiffin was asked about his family, and if his children being in high school and college make it harder to move than if they were younger.
“I do think that people with time change and, maybe when they’re younger you make really fast decisions — which I’ve gone on record, said that before — in life, and in situations,” Kiffin said. “And I think as you get older and more mature and look at things different, maybe you take longer to make the proper decision. I would say that, just in general.”

Lane Kiffin has addressed what it’s like to watch Knox Kiffin play several times.
“Seeing Knox play last night, the good old days that I tell my players, I’m in them right now,” Kiffin said after the Florida game Nov. 15. “For my life. I just think people don’t realize when they are in them.”
Layla Kiffin, who moved to Oxford from California with Knox this year, has been to many of Oxford’s games this season.
“I grew up in football,” she said Oct. 30. “My dad played and coached my whole life. My brothers played in college. Obviously, I married to a coach, but when it’s . . . your child out there, it’s a totally different ball game.”

Knox Kiffin had plenty support from the sideline in his first playoff game as Oxford’s quarterback.
In addition to Lane Kiffin, being there, comedian Theo Von and Rebels quarterback Trinidad Chambliss watched some of Oxford’s 42-6 win over Hernando in the first round of the MHSAA Class 7A playoffs Nov. 14.

Knox Kiffin is a 6-foot-2, 170-pound recruit in the class of 2028.
He has eight offers, according to 247Sports, including SMU, Arkansas State, Western Kentucky, Sacramento State, Murray State, Georgia State, FIU and East Carolina.
Where has Knox Kiffin visited?
Knox visited LSU for the game against South Carolina on Oct. 11 and visited Alabama on Nov. 8 for the game against LSU.
He does not have any offers in the SEC.
