Something happened Saturday in the college football world that has only happened once before.

Every major college football team in the state of Florida won its game. That had not happened since October 5, 2013.

Here is the scorecard from a Super Saturday in the Sunshine State:

• Florida posted the biggest win, upsetting No. 4 Ole Miss, 52-28, in Gainesville.
• No. 6 Miami remained unbeaten with a 52-3 thumping of Central Michigan at Hard Rock Stadium.
• Struggling Florida State posted a much-needed win, 34-7 over Central Arkansas in Tallahassee.
• UCF won its Big 12 Conference opener, defeating TCU 21-13 in Orlando.
• South Florida topped Bowling Green 14-6.
• Florida Atlantic crushed Louisiana-Monroe on the road, 45-17.
• Florida International beat Long Island 20-3.

The state sweep actually happened one other time – in September 2017 – but the Hurricanes played that Friday night and not on Saturday.

Gators are 4-0 for first time since 2019

The Gators are 4-0 for the first time since 2019, but there is a long way to go before anyone says definitively that they are back among the SEC's elite.

"It's not asleep, but it ain't fully awake yet," first-year UF Coach Jon Sumrall agreed when asked where the Gators' program stands heading into October. "It's being kind of stirred up a little bit. We're going to get there. It's coming. I promise you, I didn't come here for us to be average."

UM coach Mario Cristobal noted his team's success after a failed first drive – scoring touchdowns on five straight possessions.

“After that first drive,” Cristobal said, “we really we got our cleats in the ground.”
