The Iowa football team earned one of the most thrilling wins in program history on Saturday. Iowa won against Michigan on a walk-off touchdown pass, that stunned the college football world. Now, the Hawkeyes get to host the College GameDay television show for their next contest.
ESPN’s College GameDay crew will travel to Iowa on October 3 for the Hawkeyes’ game against Ohio State, per On3.
Iowa is 4-0 on the year and ranked. The Hawkeyes hope to contend for a Big Ten championship this season, and make the College Football Playoff. They will face off against a ranked Ohio State team Saturday that lost earlier this season to Texas.

Iowa also has wins this season over Iowa State, Northern Illinois and Northern Iowa.
Iowa had an emotional win over Michigan Saturday
The Hawkeyes were trailing on Saturday to the Wolverines, 19-14, with just a few seconds left to go. Iowa scored on a 16-yard touchdown pass as time expired. It was a win for the record books.
“According to ESPN Research, it was Iowa’s first victory in a decade after trailing in the final minute of regulation,” ESPN reported.
Things looked grim for the Hawkeyes on Saturday against Michigan. Iowa had missed a field goal with just 2:33 left to play. Then, the Hawkeyes got one last chance to reach the end zone with 1:46 left on the clock.
“It wasn’t looking good there in the fourth quarter, certainly,” Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz said. “But one thing about these guys, though, they don’t quit. They fight. It wasn’t perfect, but they don’t give up.”
Iowa football fans hope this victory gives the team a huge jolt of momentum going forward.
“Iowa (4-0, 1-0 Big Ten) had not defeated a ranked Big Ten opponent since beating No. 4 Penn State in 2021. The No. 17 Hawkeyes had not defeated a ranked Big Ten opponent on the road since 2015, when they won at No. 20 Northwestern,” ESPN reported.
Iowa and Ohio State battle Saturday at 3:30 ET. Both squads are 1-0 in Big Ten play this season.
