With Lane Kiffin now between Ole Miss or LSU, Florida has reportedly turned its attention to Tulane head coach Jon Sumrall as the top candidate to fill its coaching vacancy, according to multiple reports from On3’s Chris Low, Brett McMurphy and Pete Nakos.

Kiffin, who has commanded the spotlight of the coaching carousel for the past two weeks, is expected to announce his decision between the Rebels and Tigers on Saturday. Florida moved on and is now working to finalize a deal with Sumrall.

Sumrall has guided No. 24 Tulane to a 9-2 record in his first year, and his stock remains high following a successful stint at Troy where he won two Sun Belt titles. He has compiled a 41-11 record across four seasons as an FBS head coach.

Sources told ESPN’s Pete Thamel that Sumrall is expected to make a decision Sunday between staying at Tulane or taking an SEC job, with both Florida and Auburn heavily involved. Depending on Kiffin’s decision, either LSU or Ole Miss could also open.

Florida fired Billy Napier in October after a 3-4 start. He finished 22-23 overall, including 0-14 against ranked opponents away from home.
