Dane Bathurst is headed to Oklahoma.

Bathurst, a three-star linebacker recruit, was previously committed to Duke. He opened up his recruitment from the Blue Devils last month and took a visit to Oklahoma earlier in November. Vanderbilt was also involved heavily in his recruitment the second time around.

Bathurst, who transferred from Tampa Plant (Florida) for his senior season, racked up more than 60 tackles, along with 12 tackles for loss and seven sacks in nine games as a senior for the Greyhounds, who finished 9-2.

“Dane is both a tremendous football player and a great teammate,” Carmel coach Kevin Wright said. “His passion for the game is contagious. He has the skill set and work ethic to play on Sunday. He wanted to go to school where he could be developed and play for a national championship, which is why Oklahoma is such a great kit.”

Bathurst is rated the No. 532 recruit nationally by Rivals’ industry rankings.

The early signing period for football begins on Wednesday. The Oklahoma recruiting class is ranked No. 15 in the country according to On3.
