Son of former Seattle Seahawks All-Pro to visit Washington football

The Washington Huskies will host the son of a former Seattle Seahawks standout for their final home game of the season.

Noel Washington is the son of running back Leon Washington, who played nine years in the NFL from 2006-14 and was named first-team All-Pro in 2008 with the New York Jets and second-team All-Pro in 2010 with the Seahawks as a kick returner. The younger Washington is a four-star running back recruit in the 2028 class, ranked as the No. 202 player in the country and No. 14 running back by 247Sports, while starring at Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, California.

Washington set a visit Monday with the Huskies for November 21, when coach Jedd Fisch's squad hosts reigning national champions Indiana. It will actually be the second time Washington sees the Huskies in action this season, because he also set a visit to Nebraska on October 31, when the Cornhuskers host quarterback Demond Williams Jr. and company.

Washington also has a visit with hometown UCLA on November 28 for their game against USC, but he told 247Sports' Blair Angulo that Nebraska and Washington currently lead the race for the 2028 recruit.

"Nebraska has been at my top for a while, and they still are, especially with their success right now and how they're running the ball. Kansas has been climbing up my list, as well, but I would say Nebraska and Washington are at my top right now," Washington said. "Washington is great. I have a great relationship with coach Scottie Graham. They've been doing well, and their success with running back Quaid Carr really is great because I used to study his film back when he was at Servite. I've been in touch with all their coaches, and I can't wait to visit."

In five games this season, Washington has compiled 404 rushing yards and 7 touchdowns on just 64 carries, an average above 6 yards per rush. The Huskies, meanwhile, have struggled to run the ball with Carr, Jordan Washington, Jayden Limar, and Julian McMahan out with long-term injuries and only 4 scholarship running backs – Trey Cooley, Brian Bonner Jr., Ansu Sanoe, and D'Aryhian Clemons – healthy.

That could wind up playing a factor in Washington's decision, considering how complimentary he was of the way Nebraska has found success on the ground when speaking with Angulo.

Washington will also host 2028 running back recruit Corey Hinton Jr. on November 7 for the Huskies' game against Penn State, according to a report from Angulo last week. Three-star back James Curoso was also on campus for the season opener against Washington State on September 6 as the Huskies focus primarily on the Southwest to find their running back commit. (Hinton plays at Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas and Curoso plays at Cardinal Newman in Clovis, CA.)

Washington told Angulo Monday that Arizona, Penn State, and Kansas have been in contact the most among the schools that he has not scheduled visits for already.
