Michigan State vs. Wisconsin: Score predictions, analysis from Spartans Wire staff

Michigan State football's season is teetering on the verge of disaster, in what very well could be a must-win game for the Spartans this week at Wisconsin. So does the Spartans Wire staff think they'll get it done in Mad City?

The Spartans have dropped back-to-back games, both of which by more than three scores. Now, they head to Wisconsin as a double-digit underdog and looking to get things back on track this week.

Michigan State is 2-2 overall and 0-1 in Big Ten play entering this matchup. Wisconsin, on the other hand, is 3-1 overall and 1-0 in Big Ten play after an impressive comeback win last week at previously ranked Penn State.

Kickoff from Madison, Wisconsin is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. ET. The game will be televised on Big Ten Network.

Prediction: Wisconsin 20, Michigan State 17

This was a tough one for me. But you have to give the edge to Wisconsin because they just took down Penn State and well, we all saw the Nebraska game for MSU.

Prediction: Wisconsin 24, Michigan State 13

I'm officially to the point where I need to see it to believe it with this Spartans team. It doesn't mean I'm out on this season and throwing in the towel on reaching a bowl game, but my preseason expectations are quickly fading. Especially when it comes to the offense. I fear we are in for another dud of a performance from the Michigan State offense, which ultimately results in a third straight loss.

Prediction: Wisconsin 31, Michigan State 10

It has been a sobering two games for Michigan State and at this point in time, this team is going to have prove they can compete against a power conference opponent before any prediction can be made for a close game.
