Notre Dame to play at Virginia in 2027

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish will play the Virginia Cavaliers at Scott Stadium in Charlottesville, Virginia, during the 2027 season, Virginia announced on Wednesday.

It completed the schedule for both teams, with the date, time, and TV assignment set to be announced at a later date. Notre Dame was supposed to play the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets next season, but the game was cancelled, freeing up the slot.

Notre Dame leads the all-time series 5-0, outscoring the Cavaliers 168-77. The most recent game was in 2024, with the Fighting Irish winning 35-14 at home. They first played in 1989, with Notre Dame going 2-0 in Charlottesville.

The Fighting Irish will also play the Michigan State Spartans, Clemson Tigers, Stanford Cardinal, Duke Blue Devils, Wake Forest Demon Deacons, Purdue Boilermakers, Auburn Tigers, Kent State Golden Flashes, Virginia Tech Hokies, Navy Midshipmen, and BYU Cougars during the 2027 season.

Virginia will play the Boston College Eagles, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, Miami Hurricanes, North Carolina Tar Heels, Stanford Cardinal, Arkansas State Red Wolves, Louisville Cardinals, Pitt Panthers, SMU Mustangs, Virginia Tech Hokies, and William & Mary Tribe.
