Alabama Picks Up Crystal Ball Prediction for 2027 Cornerback

The class of 2027 has been, needless to say, underwhelming for the Alabama Crimson Tide.

After losing out on many recruiting battles, whether it be in pursuit or a flip, Alabama threw its hands up, and focused mainly on 2028.

This was by design the whole time.

Head coach Kalen DeBoer told reporters at the beginning of the offseason that the ‘27 class was going to be small. If they won a recruit’s commitment, great. But the priority was 2028 the whole time.

However, one ‘27 recruit has been on the Tide’s mind for a few months, and he just may be calling Tuscaloosa ‘home’ shortly.

Cornerback Preston Glasco was initially committed to UConn earlier this year, but Alabama quickly emerged as a serious contender for his commitment.

Twice in September, the Tide brought him on campus. He was in Tuscaloosa for Week 1 against East Carolina, and then for an official visit during South Carolina week, just three days after he decommitted from the Huskies.

Benjamin Wolk, a writer for Georgia’s Dawgs247, logged a crystal ball prediction for Glasco to land in Tuscaloosa.

Wolk's prediction carries significant weight, as he's been 37-for-38 in 2027 predictions and 88-for-100 all-time.

Glasco, a three-star recruit, wasn’t a highly sought after prospect earlier this summer. Boston College was the first FBS school to offer him, and he made unofficial visits to BC, Florida State and Georgia Tech.

It wasn’t long after he committed to UConn in the middle of June that the Georgia Bulldogs brought him in for an official visit and made an offer to him.

That was the first domino.

Things ramped up quickly after Glasco’s visit to Athens, as both South Carolina and Alabama came into the picture.

Glasco told Rivals before he decommitted that he appreciated the loyalty that the Huskies showed him, and the faith that they had put in him when no one else was giving him a chance.

However, for Glasco, the opportunity to play in the SEC appears to have been difficult to pass up.

Glasco cited Alabama’s ability to develop not just defensive backs in general, but tall ones, naming Pat Surtain as an example in the NFL, and Dijon Lee, who’s currently a starter for the Tide.

Nothing has been announced just yet, but between Wolk's prediction and Glasco's recent official visit to Tuscaloosa, Alabama appears to be in a strong position to add another member to its 2027 class.
