There was some surprise news on Wednesday afternoon, Notre Dame will be traveling to take on Virginia next season.

That means that the 2027 schedule is almost set, with just some start times that are unknown for the Irish according to schedules.com. There are home game with Purdue, Auburn, Kent State, Virginia Tech, Navy, and BYU. The road slate consists of Michigan State, Clemson, Stanford, Duke and the Cavaliers.

Right now, the Shamrock Series game has yet to be announced, but Notre Dame will play in the Duke’s Mayo Classic against Wake Forest in Charlotte, North Carolina. That means there will be a second game played in a neutral site. I’d like to see Auburn or Virginia Tech, as the SEC is always a big draw and there is a budding rivalry with James Franklin, which started while he was coaching Penn State.

The 2027 Notre Dame schedule will look very similar to the 2026 version, as there are some very difficult games, a few tough games, and couple fairly easy ones. It’s one that should lead the Irish to the CFP with at least 10-wins, so it should be another fun season in South Bend.
