SEC football standings entering a critical Week 5

The SEC only has five remaining undefeated teams entering Week 5 action. The conference has nine teams in the top 25 of the US LBM Coaches Poll.

Several SEC teams separated themselves as potential SEC title contenders in Week 4. The Alabama Crimson Tide looked explosive on offense in their dominant win over South Carolina. Alabama will look to follow that up on Saturday against undefeated Mississippi State and quarterback Kamario Taylor. The Florida Gators earned a huge home win over Ole Miss and is seeking to earn a win on the road at Missouri this week.

We already knew that the Georgia Bulldogs are SEC championship contenders, but Georgia's dominant win over Oklahoma made the Bulldogs look like national championship contenders.

In Week 5, the SEC has six conference games. The Oklahoma Sooners and Texas Longhorns have bye weeks before facing each other next week. Ole Miss also has a bye week after suffering their first loss of the season to Florida.

Week 5 does not have as many ranked matchups as Week 4, but it will be a legitimate test for the conference. It is still early in the season and we're still finding out what teams are made of.
