Kentucky returns to SEC play after a 45-21 non-conference win over visiting South Alabama last week. Three Wildcats topped the 100-yard mark: CJ Baxter got 149 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries, Jason Patterson piled up 137 yards and three scores on 12 attempts, and Jovantae Barnes posted 100 yards and a TD on just eight carries as Kentucky totaled 390 yards on the ground. Kenny Minchey finished 19-of-25 for 177 yards and a touchdown, and Mi’Quise Humphrey-Grace posted 1.5 sacks.
South Carolina comes off a 49-18 drubbing at No. 8 Alabama last week that left it 0-2 in the SEC and won’t have star pass rusher Dylan Stewart, who was suspended by the SEC after punching an Alabama offensive lineman in the fourth quarter. LaNorris Sellers threw for 185 yards and a touchdown but also tossed a pick-six while Matt Fuller ran for 112 yards and a score on 19 carries.
The Gamecocks enter with four straight wins over the Wildcats, including a 35-13 win at home last September, and lead the all-time series 22-14-1. Patterson leads the Kentucky run game with 326 yards along with three TDs, and Baxter has 313 yards and five touchdowns. Minchey enters with 876 yards and eight scoring passes with one interception. Fuller tops South Carolina with 384 rushing yards and four TDs, while Sellers has 833 yards and six touchdowns with four INTs.
This is a great college football matchup that you will not want to miss; make sure to tune in and catch all the action.
