Illinois vs. Purdue Preview: How to Watch, Injury Report & Odds

The Illinois Fighting Illini will look to bounce back from a brutal past week on Saturday afternoon, when they host the Purdue Boilermakers in their homecoming game.
Bret Bielema's squad was defeated by the No. 5 Ohio State Buckeyes in Week 4, 42-19, to drop Illinois to 2-2 on the season. The Fighting Illini's loss in their Big Ten opener extended far beyond its on-field woes, though. Less than 24 hours after falling to the Buckeyes, defensive coordinator Bobby Hauck mutually parted ways with the program, leaving Illinois without a play-caller on that side of the ball.
Despite Illinois' defensive struggles, the offense has found success. Quarterback Katin Houser has completed 68.6% of his passes for 1,021 yards and nine touchdowns to just two interceptions, and also has a score with his legs.
Purdue provides an ample opportunity for Illinois to rebound from its early-season struggles. The Boilermakers have dropped three consecutive games since beating Indiana State in their season opener, including a 49-10 defeat to No. 3 Notre Dame last week.
Among Big Ten teams, Purdue ranks 13th in scoring offense and 18th in scoring defense. The team has allowed an average of 39.5 points through four games.
