Wide receivers are not supposed to contend for the Heisman Trophy and launch themselves to the top of NFL mock drafts, but Jeremiah Smith is causing voters and scouts to reconsider the rules. The Ohio State superstar added to his magnificent 2026 season with a monster performance versus Iowa, recording 11 receptions for 206 yards and two touchdowns in a 31-14 victory versus Iowa. Before he finished his masterpiece in Kinnick Stadium, Smith secured the Buckeyes’ all-time Triple Crown.

Ohio State constantly produces impactful playmakers, but in the record books, this 20-year-old stands above them all. He reached this ultimate milestone against a lauded defense, elevating his greatness even further.

Against Power Four opponents Texas, Illinois and Iowa, Smith amassed 587 receiving yards and seven TDs. He is dominating regardless of the competition, and if that trend continues, the Buckeyes may celebrate their second national championship in three years.
