The Georgia Bulldogs are getting set for what could be the biggest game of the season in college football with a trip to Tuscaloosa to face the Alabama Crimson Tide with both teams at 5-0.

On a potential collision course for matchups in Atlanta or in the College Football Playoff as well, the winner here would be making a huge statement that the SEC runs through their perspective town. As it turns out, the early weather report indicates a heavy possible rain which could even reach monsoon-type levels, and while this could change, Georgia has to feel good about that possibility.

If it were to rain and the game turn into a slog-like muddy mess, this would seemingly favor the Bulldogs more so than the Crimson Tide.

Georgia Would Benefit More So from Rain in Forecast

For as impressive as Alabama has been offensively in the early portion of the season, so much of it runs through young quarterback Keelon Russell and what he has been able to do through the air. Gunner Stockton's arm is of course a massive part of what the Dawgs want to do as well and it showed this past Saturday, however Georgia feels like it would be more equipped to win a game in which it turns into a physical battle of respective ground games.

The Crimson Tide has come a long way from the group who could not get a yard on the ground during the SEC Championship, but if it does come back to running backs and offensive line, there's not a team in the nation who the Dawgs would not love their chances against.

Any sort of weather factor that would slow down Russell is a victory for Georgia, and a rainy game undoubtedly works to their benefit.

At the end of the day, this is going to be a very tough game no matter what the weather forecast says, but in the early portion of the week, the Dawgs should be doing a rain dance in the locker room.

Things could absolutely change with the forecast between now and kickoff, but as of Tuesday, it looks likely that it will be a wet night in Tuscaloosa. If Georgia can find a way to take advantage of that and play to their strengths, this team is going to have a great shot at leaving Bryant-Denny Stadium with their first victory there since 2007.
