Your logic about why you think Notre Dame is overrated is as dumb you are

The arguments and overall discourse about Notre Dame football over the last few months has been nothing short of toxic. For example, the fact that Notre Dame hasn’t won a national championship since 1993 (I said what I said) and that the Oregon Ducks haven’t EVER won a national championship obviously means two completely different things.

A team like Oregon could have done the exact same thing as Notre Dame thus far, and would have been praised by many of Notre Dame’s detractors. LOOK AT WHAT THEY HAVE DONE AT 5-0 WITH 3 CONFERENCE WINS BLAH BLAH BLAH….

And that’s where this all really starts. Because Notre Dame has failed to win a national championship since 93, Marcus Freeman’s 48-12 record (16-8 vs top 25) and a playoff run in 2024 that included 3 playoff victories to get to the National Championship game — well it all gets tossed out of the window because of some dumb opinion about the program.

All of that is just a blanket way of saying people’s opinios here are just that — opinions — and dumb ones at that.

“But, what has Notre Dame done to justify being ranked No. 3? Notre Dame found itself in a tussle with North Carolina in the second half. A few weeks ago, the Irish let a bad Michigan State team hang around for too long, and Notre Dame didn’t look great in the first half of a win against Wisconsin, either.”

“No argument that CJ Carr is really good, and the run game stepped up against UNC, but I’d have teams like Miami, Alabama and Ohio State ahead of the Irish, based on what we’ve seen so far.“

I didn’t realize we had to justify an undefeated team after week 5 being ranked No. 3 with the type of talent is on the roster and with the coaching is has leading the way.

So… who in the hell has Alabama beat? Who in the hell has Ohio State beat? Who in the hell has Ohio State beat? Who in the hell has Miami beat?

The big wins have been slim this year across this country as we move into week six. That’s going to change over the next 3-4 weeks, but there’s no real evidence or film or proof or stats which can show Notre Dame is “overrated” right now. It’s just a feeling someone like Blake Topham Hatt has while finding his own relevanc eon the Island of Sodor.

I say dumb, and others say ignorant. Frankly, I’m fine either way.

If someone wants to rank a different team ahead of Notre Dame because they truly feel the other team is better, and has something (even if it’s just a little something) to back that ranking up, I’m totally fine with it. But if you just want to put the words “overrated” and “Notre Dame” in an article to prove you’re nothing than a clickbaiting pageview whore… then that’s truly dumb.
