UCF vs Oklahoma State Prediction: Can the Cowboys Keep It Going?

NCAAF College Football News, Photos, Stats, Scores, Schedule & Videos...

Oklahoma State came together fast. It got over the strange loss to Tulsa in a hurry with a fantastic win over Oregon, followed by a tune-up against Murray State, and then it was on.

Going to West Virginia for the Big 12 opener was supposed to be when reality hit, but the Cowboys were fantastic in a 41-24 win over the Mountaineers.

UCF saw its two-game winning streak come to an end with a 27-17 loss at Houston, but the defense is playing well, and the team is improving.

UCF vs Oklahoma State: Quick Hits

  • The two teams have only played twice. UCF won 17-14 last year and 45-3 in 2023.
  • This is huge for UCF considering what’s coming next. There’s a chance to go on a roll with four home games in the next five weeks, with the one road game at Kansas.
  • Oklahoma State needs this with three of the next four games on the road, starting at Houston.

Why UCF Will Win

UCF wins when it runs well.

The defense will have to hold up against the dangerous Oklahoma State offense by coming up with third down stops, but the Knight attack is working far faster. UCF keeps defenses on their heels when the ground attack is on a roll, going 3-0 when it hits 100 yards or more.

They key is to string together several runs in a row to find a groove. Oklahoma State might have won, but it allowed West Virginia to tear off 335 yards on a whopping 66 carries.

Why Oklahoma State Will Win

The running game is now up to speed. It couldn’t get going in the opener against Tulsa – and the four turnovers didn’t help – but the attack was moving against Oregon and hasn’t slowed down.

The UCF defense might be terrific, but it’ll have big problems if the Cowboys are rolling up close to six yards per carry like they have been over the last few weeks.

UCF vs Oklahoma State Prediction, Betting Lines

UCF’s inability to control the time of possession battle will be a problem.

The Knights got up 17-0 on Houston, and Houston scored 27 unanswered points, all in the second half. The UCF defense held up great in the second halves of the other four games, but Oklahoma State’s relentless offensive balance will take over late.
